Walleye fishing has been kind of slow. I’ve been catching them here or there but not in any great numbers with any consistency.
Northern Pike are being caught in two locations. One is the 10-12 ft deep weed flats and the other is on the weedline in 15-20 ft. Look for the fish by the island or by Assembly Park. The deep water fish are being caught on lindy rigged suckers. The shallow, 10-12 ft, fish are being […]
Smallmouth bass are being caught in the 12-14 ft range. They are aggressively hitting nightcrawlers or football head jigs dragged on the bottom. On the football head jigs, the best color is rootbeer on a ¼ oz jig head. The smaller jig head will prevent a lot of the weeds from snagging your bait. Look […]
rthern Pike action is steady. The fish are in the weed flats in front of Lake Lawn Lodge, Highland Bay and Viewcrest Bay. White spinner baits and chatter baits have been producing the most action. The only downside is that the fish have been on the small side.
Walleyes can be caught at night. They are being caught on large Rapallas or Smithwick medium diving rogues. The best location has been trolling from Abbey Springs to the Yacht Club or in front of Yerkes Observatory.
Largemouth bass are in 4-5 ft of water around the boat docks. I’ve been concentrating on south shore piers. They can be caught on Senkos. Green pumpkin or watermelon seed are the best colors.
Walleye fishing remains very slow. Most of the fish are being caught on small suckers or fat head minnows. The best depth is about 14-16 ft of water.
