Rock bass fishing has been excellent. The bigger fish seem to be in 15-20 ft of water. However, for better action, the 12 ft range seems to always produce. No need to get fancy, the old split shot rig and a single hook works fine.

Bluegill and sunfish have been great. The fish are in 21 to 26 feet of water. Small leaf worms fished on a split shot rig. Work the bait six inches off bottom. The fish are off the weeds, I locate the fish locator before I start fishing.
Northern Pike have been almost non-existent. I’ve been catching one here and there. I actually caught one legal fish this week. I’ve dragged suckers around for hours and hours with very little success.
Walleye fishing has been good right at dusk and at dawn. The fish are still in 16-18 ft of water. The only time I’ve had any really good success has been in the low light conditions. Almost all of the fish have been caught on night crawlers.

Bluegill fishing has been awesome. The fish are either in 20-24 ft of water or 15-17 ft of water. They are located about 6 inches to 1 ft off bottom. The average size has been decreasing weekly. Bluegill fishing remains excellent. The best depth has been 20-25 ft of water. The best bait has been small pieces of nightcrawler or red worms. The best success has come straight lining beneath the boat and slowly drifting. I’ve been fishing them by Elgin Club and by Gage Marine.
