Largemouth bass have been the best bite on the lake other than the bluegills. They are in the 15-20 ft depth range and can be readily caught on either drop shots with a 4 inch worm or nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig. The best location is by 3 flags or by concrete point. […]
Walleye fishing has been average. The fish are on the weedline in 15-24 ft of water. The fish I’m catching are on nightcrawlers fished on either a lindy rig or a split shot rig. This week it was kind of a battle to catch a legal fish.
Crappies have pulled off the weedline. They are suspending in 15 ft of water. The best approach has been purple plastic. Look for the fish over by Browns Channel or west of the Yacht club. I use a 1/32 oz Arkie Jig and a 3/0 split shot 1 ft above the jig. That allows you […]
Crappies are on the weedline in 12-16 ft of water. I’ve been using the mini mites with a 1/32 oz jig and small 3/0 split shot hooked about 6-8 inches above the lure. Most of the fish I’ve been catching are between 6 and 7 inches. You really need to sort to catch a limit […]
Bluegills can be caught in the shallows in 4-6 ft of water. Viewcrest Channel or the Highlands Channel are a couple of the best spots. Wax worm tipped ice jigs are producing most of the fish.
Some of the best reports for large fish were trolling stick baits, like Walleye Bandits and Rapala Husky Jerks in 6-8 ft of water. The best time is at night from about 3-5 a.m. Check locations such as Willow Point, the Yacht Club point and Browns Channel.
Northern Pike are being caught in two locations. One is the 10-12 ft deep weed flats and the other is on the weedline in 15-20 ft. Look for the fish by the island or by Assembly Park. The deep water fish are being caught on lindy rigged suckers. The shallow, 10-12 ft, fish are being […]
Northern Pike have been almost non-existent. I’ve been catching one here and there. I actually caught one legal fish this week. I’ve dragged suckers around for hours and hours with very little success.
