Perch fishing has been pretty good. The fish have been biting on hellgrammites or ½ of a nightcrawler. The best depth has been 17-19 ft. The best location has been on the west end of the lake by the Island.
Bluegills are biting in the 12-13 ft depth range. The best location is by Browns Channel or in front of Township Park.
The jumbo perch are starting to show themselves. The best depth for them is the 7-9 ft range. I’ve caught quite a few by the Yacht Club and by the outlet by Lake Lawn Lodge. Either use hellgrammites or small nightcrawlers for the best bite.
Perch fishing has been excellent this last week, with both numbers and large fish being caught. Most of the good catches have been coming from the west end. Perch and Bluegills are starting to bite in the shallows. The bluegills and perch are both in about 5-6 ft. of water. The best bait has been leaf worms or small nightcrawlers. I fish almost exclusively a small hook and bobber combination.
Yellow Perch fishing has been fantastic on the west end by the Viewcrest Bay. You want to anchor the boat in 20-22 ft of water. They are biting on slip bobbers with hellgrammites. Hellgrammites are outfishing any other bait about 5 to 1.
