Bluegills are in the medium depth range of 16-18 ft. The best location remains by Elgin Club or in Geneva Bay when you can locate some weeds.
You want to work a depth of 8-10 water. For Carolina rigging, you want to concentrate on the deep weedline. Look for the fish in Trinkes Bay, the narrows or Knollwood.
Yellow perch are also in the shallows. They can be caught by Belvidere Park in 8-10 ft of water. The best approach is small fat head minnows fished on a Thill slip bobber.
The water needs to warm up a few degrees to make it active. Like always, the night bite is the only way to go. Trolling crank baits will work after the warmup. Largemouth bass are biting in 3-5 ft of water.
They are being caught in the shallows on leaf worms. The best location has been the Abbey Harbor and Trinkes or down in Geneva Bay by the Riviera. Look for the fish in 3-4 ft of water.
Perch are starting to school up heavy right now. Look for them moving into 12-14 feet of water near the perch grass. The best approach has been slip bobbers and small minnows or leaf worms.
Walley fishing has been very good both day and night. The fish I have been catching are on large fat head minnows. The best depth has been 10-15 feet of water on hard rock bottoms. Rainbow point and Black Point are great choices.
Walleye fishing has been awesome casting or trolling stick baits in the shallows. Best locations Maytag Point and Buttons Bay.
