Most of the fish I’m catching are in 12-15 ft of water. I’m catching them on small plastics, purple or yellow are the best colors.
Bluegills are still loaded into the lake’s channels and shallow water. One of the things that is going on now is that the weed growth is starting to push them deeper.
he few fish that I heard about were more than 25 inches. Bluegill fishing has been good near the outlet dam or in the channels, such as Browns, Viewcrest and the Highland.
Bluegills have been slow for me. I’ve been fishing quite shallow and I think the fish are suspended in the main lake basin in 30-40 ft of water. Look for the fish by the Village Supper Club or just off the Yacht Club in the main lake basin.
I think that the walleyes are a little deeper in 22-24 ft of water on the outside of the weedline. The best approach to catch them is chrome and blue jigging Rapalas.
Bluegills and Perch are still biting however the size was quite a bit smaller than in past weeks. Most of the anglers fishing for them are anchoring in 15-19 ft. of water.
Walleye fishing has been very slow this week. Most of the fish are coming on large leeches fished on a lindy rig in 15-20 ft of water. Look for the fish by Browns Channel or by the Village Supper Club point. Very few legal fish are being caught.
Perch action has been good on the west end just outside of Viewcrest Bay. The best approach is either slip bobbering or straight lining hellgrammites beneath the boat. The best depth range is 20-22 ft of water.
