Northern Pike will be picking up in about 10 days once the Thermocline starts.  I’ll be starting to try for them the 2nd week of July.

Rock bass fishing has been excellent.  The bigger fish seem to be in 15-20 ft of water.  However, for better action, the 12 ft range seems to always produce.  No need to get fancy, the old split shot rig and a single hook works fine.

Perch fishing has been improving.  The fish are starting to move into the 12-14 ft. range.  The fish can be taken on slip bobbers or by drifting nightcrawlers.  The best location has been by Coleman’s point or by Rainbow point.

Rock bass are plentiful, with the cooling water.  Wherever you find active rock bass, you will most likely find a few small mouth as well.  The best depth has been 8-12 ft. of water.  All the fish I caught last week were on nightcrawlers.
