Rock bass are plentiful, with the cooling water.  Wherever you find active rock bass, you will most likely find a few small mouth as well.  The best depth has been 8-12 ft. of water.  All the fish I caught last week were on nightcrawlers.

Crappie fishing is still very productive.  They are again in the weeds in 8-14 ft. of water.  Most of the limits are being taken at night, which makes it tough in the cool weather.  Some good locations are the Village Supper Club and in front of Assembly Park.  The best success is produced on small […]

Largemouth bass are in the 15 ft depth range, in the weedline just off the main lake points.  You can catch them on black and blue jigs or split shot rigged fat head minnows.  The best location has been just west of Willow Point, west of the Yacht Club or by Assembly park.

Lake Trout fishing has started to slow with the cooling water.  The fish aren’t suspended as much and they are laying close to the bottom making them hard to catch.  There are still some people trying for them in the main lake basin.

Largemouth bass fishing has been improving.  The bass are starting to move into shallower water from their deep summer haunts.  Look for the fish in Williams Bay or by Trinkes.  The best depth currently is about 14 ft.  Use drop shot rigs or Carolina rigged green pumpkin lizards.

Crappie fishing has been above average in the 30-35 ft depth range.  They can be caught on slip bobbers and fat head minnows.  The fish are in the main lake basin.  Look for them by Willow Point or in front of Assembly Park.  They are typically soft this time of year, so you want to […]

Walleye fishing has been excellent at night.  The best location has been in Williams Bay, Trinkes Bay or in Abbey Springs.  The best approach is trolling medium diving crank baits like Rapalas or Smithwick Rogues.  The best colors are chrome and blue or chrome and black.

Crappie fishing remains very consistent.  The fish are suspended over the main lake basin 8-10 ft down in 30 ft of water.  The best approach is casting small plastics and letting them sink 5-10 seconds and slowly reeling them back to the boat.  The best location has been by Willow Point or by the orange […]
