Northern Pike fishing has been very good. Like the largemouth bass, they are off the weed edge in 17-19 ft of water. You can either catch them on a live bait rig with a sucker or chub or by casting large swim baits off the weed line. The best location has been on the west […]
All 2018 Fishing Reports for Wisconsin
Largemouth bass are being caught in 20-30 ft of water on the main weed lines. Most of the fish are being caught by either Carolina rigging lizards, or dragging jigs on the hard bottom areas of the weed flats. The best location is either Trinkes or the weed line in Williams Bay. There can be […]
Panfish has been fantastic. Limits of fish can be caught in the deep water, 23-24 ft depth works good. Watch your sonar and you will be able to see the schools. The best baits are red worms and green hellgrammites. The best fishing has been to the east of the Yacht Club or by the […]
Walleye fishing remains a constant bite in the overnight hours. Look for the fish in Trinkes Bay or by Knollwood bay. The best depth is 12-14 ft of water. Trolling medium diving stick baits has been the best presentation.
Walleye pike are off the main lake points in 22-24 ft of water. They can be caught on lindy rigged nightcrawlers with a 24-30 inch leader. I prefer using a painted hook on my lindy rig in either pink or chartreuse. As the water cools, the fish will switch to an all fat head minnow […]
Bluegill fishing has been spotty. I’ve been catching one or two while bass fishing. The fish are suspending in the main lake basin about 10-15 ft down in 40 ft of water. The fish will move shallow as the water continues to cool. Once they are in about 10-14 ft of water they will be […]
Largemouth bass are in a transition between the summer and fall bite. As the water cools the bass will move shallow. My best success last week was in 21-22 ft of water using a drop shot with 4 inch plastics or lindy rigged nightcrawlers. The best location is by Covenant Harbor or the weed line […]
Fall has officially arrived on both the calendar and the temps. After about 10 days of high temps and high pressure, we’ve seen a significant drop and for the past few days high temps have struggled to get into the lower 70’s. Largemouth bass are biting again with the weather change.
