Look for the fish by Elgin Club or by Crawford’s bar. Crappies have been hit or miss. One day they are in by the boat docks thick, and the next they’ve moved into deeper water.
Crappie fishing has been good in the mid-range weeds. You want to fish them in 6-10 feet of water. The best location is by Browns Channel. You want to look for scattered weeds.
Largemouth bass fishing has been sporadic. The only active fish being caught are in Abbey Harbor or Geneva Bay. This year, Trinkes Bay was dredged out, and the water clarity is very low.
Walleyes are biting during low-light conditions. They are biting on crankbaits, chrome/blue Husky Jerks, or chrome/blue Smithwick Rogues. You want to fish in 6-8 ft of water. The best location is the Yacht Club and Village Supper Club.
Bluegill fishing has been great, the fish are in 18-20 ft of water. I’ve been catching a bunch by Covenant Harbor, Elgin Club and by Gage Marine.
Northern Pike fishing has been steady in the weed flats in 8-10 ft of water. Look for the fish by the Highlands or Viewcrest Bay.
The best presentation has been ice jigs with wax worms or leaf worms fished on a split shot rig. Northern pike action remains consistent in the medium weeds in 13-15 ft of water. Use spinner baits or chatter baits for the best success. The best location has been by Lake Lawn Lodge or the bay […]
I have caught have come off of nightcrawlers fished right off bottom. Walleye fishing remains excellent at night. The fish remain in their same general areas by Trinkes Bay, Williams Bay and Abbey Springs.
