I prefer Bandit lures in the pearl color. Crappie fishing has been very slow. They are very sporadic, and the schools are not well-defined. The crappies I’ve been catching are suspended in 20 feet of water.
Look for them at Black Point or the West side of Williams Bay. Walleye action has been good at night, especially when there is some wind. You want to fish for them at Abbey Springs or Knollwood.
Walleyes are being caught coming off the weed line in 20 ft of water. The fish are on the main lake points. Most of the success has been coming from large leeches fished on either a Lindy rig or a split shot rig with a chartreuse-painted hook.

The best location for the smallmouth bass has been by Belvidere Park or Assembly Park. The best baits have been split-shot-rigged leeches or small to medium suckers.
Rock bass fishing is starting to improve significantly. Most of the fish are in 12-15 ft of water. They have been biting on nightcrawlers, minnows, or any other available bait.
Look for the fish by Elgin Club or by Crawford’s bar. Crappies have been hit or miss. One day they are in by the boat docks thick, and the next they’ve moved into deeper water.
Crappie fishing has been good in the mid-range weeds. You want to fish them in 6-10 feet of water. The best location is by Browns Channel. You want to look for scattered weeds.
