Bluegill fishing has been very good in 18-20 ft of water. The best location has been by Elgin Club or in Geneva Bay. You want to use leaf worms fished on a split shot right on bottom.

Perch action has been good on the west end just outside of Viewcrest Bay. The best approach is either slip bobbering or straight lining hellgrammites beneath the boat. The best depth range is 20-22 ft of water.
Lake Trout fishing remains excellent. You want to position your bait 70-76 ft down in the main lake basin; anywhere between 108-110 ft of water. Nickel and blue and nickel and green are out producing everything else.
Walleye fishing is slow. We had a couple bug hatches last week, which really shut them down. Some people are catching a few on leeches, however I spent a whole morning trying to catch them and didn’t even get a bite.
The most active specie has been the bluegill. Rock bass fishing is becoming a bit more limited. Look for the fish by the Elgin Club or in Geneva Bay, outside the buoys.
Largemouth bass are on the deep weed line. They can be caught casting deep diving crank baits or by fishing night crawlers. I caught several bass last week over 18 inches and one close to 6 lbs. The best location is by the gray condos or by the Village Supper Club.

Walleyes have been slow. With stable weather this week, fishing should improve. With the other fish biting so well, I wouldn’t waste my time. Large mouth fishing has been all right.
